40 years since the Saab 340 inaugural flight

January 25 1983 was a cold, crisp day as pilots Per Pellebergs and Eric Sjöberg sped down the runway in Tannefors, 瑞典 in what would become the benchmark regional turboprop. The first flight with the Saab 340 lasted one hour and 21分钟utes and was uneventful.

November 3 marks the 70th anniversary of the Saab 32 Lansen aircraft. The Lansen made history by being 瑞典’s first supersonic aircraft. A total number of 455 were produced, and the Lansen remained in operational use by the Swedish 空气 Force until 1997.
